Dear Yogi,
We smile when we hear the many stories of our
student’s lives changing as a result of their yoga
practice, because we too, feel the power of
transformation. We are in it everyday. Some
days it is VERY hot. Other days it’s just steamy.
Overall, we feel quite alive!
If you are ready to BE more fully in your life – to feel
more alive, to develop a healthy routine and to shed
off old habits that no longer serve you, join us this
fall at alleyCat Yoga. We’d love to see you!

In addition to our weekly yoga classes, we've added
a new Friday night satsanga offering

aspects of the yoga tradition, given by MU Religious
Studies

Also offered, on Saturday nights, is Trance Dance! Trance dance is
not about performance; instead it's focus is
transformation and expansion of consciousness to
bring healing in a powerful and energetic way. Trance
Dance is lead by Leyla Castro who recently moved to

| Teacher Feature: Kevin Perry |
 |
|
Here's what alleyCat students have been saying
about Kevin Perry's yoga classes:
"I learn so much about my body."
"It's a challenging class."
"I really had fun."
"I seriously didn't know I could do what we did in
there today."
We're excited that beginning Sept. 7th, Kevin will be
teaching an evening weekday class at alleyCat Yoga.
His class will meet every Wednesday at 7:30
pm.
Kevin is a highly skilled, entertaining and
enthusiastic
teacher. His style is to teach individually and
progressively -- starting where you're at, then
building, adding subtle action, alignment, and insights
about how your body works and how you can use
your body more effectively in poses and in daily
life.
His instruction is interwoven with
lessons from classical and not-so-classical yoga
writings. In Kevin's classes you get to learn, smile
and laugh, too.
Kevin teaches
a style of yoga called Anusara (a-nu-sar-a) which
means "flowing with Grace'" or "following your heart".
Anusara
Yoga is known for its detailed system of
alignment principles and its uplifting philosophy.
Nearly 15 years ago, while living in Washington, DC,
Kevin had a period of intense yoga training when he
was fortunate to study with a wide variety of
nationally and internationally known teachers. There
he built on his previous training in human biology
and philosophy, and his love of teaching, to become
a full-time yoga teacher in northern Virginia.
In
short, Kevin fell in love with the fantastic feeling of
yoga and the joy of sharing it with others. You
can still feel this in the classes he teaches today.
If you're curious about Kevin's classes and what they
might hold for you, give one a try in September
and be sure to check out his fascinating, well-written
and information-packed Daily Yoga Tip at

pay-by-the-month credit card option for two
new "RollOver" Yoga Passes. The credits on these
passes will not expire, but instead can be "rolled
over" from one month to another.

| Scholarship fund |
 |
|
Thanks to your generous donations we have awarded
5 scholarships to help folks who are unable to pay
the entire cost of their yoga classes. Just an extra
dollar from each student allows another student to
receive the benefits of yoga.
Our scholarship fund is currently low. Please
consider
adding any amount to your next yoga pass purchase
to support this fund. Thank you!
